Exotic
The Exotic Shorthair tends to be a healthy, hearty breed with more than 50 varieties. A true hybrid, the Exotic offers some of the finest qualities of Persians, American Shorthairs and Burmese. As gentle and sweet natured as the Persian, the Exotic also has the playfulness and intelligence of the American Shorthair. They are good companions for children.

Breed-related disease descriptionStomatitis. Severe, painful inflammation of the mouth typically caused by an intense reaction to one or more diseases such as feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virus, diabetes mellitus and malnutrition. Treatment includes control and/or elimination of the disease(s), along with aggressive professional and home dental care. In some cases, the disease has advanced to a degree that home dental care is too painful.
