This condition is characterized by a collection of pus under the skin caused by an infection from a bite or a scratch wound. The skin wounds are often very small and not easily seen.
Signs may include a lump under the skin that may be warm, painful to touch and have a foul-smelling, blood-tinged discharge (pus), lameness, loss of appetite and lethargy.
If you observe any of these signs in your pet, contact your veterinarian.
