Picking Up Mice by Their Tails

It doesn’t hurt mice to be held by their tails for short periods of time (for example, when they’re taken out of their cage). They don’t weigh much, and their tails are relatively strong.

They shouldn’t be held by their tails for long periods of time, however, and they should never be swung by their tails.
