Are moth balls toxic to cats? I am trying to stop my cats from using my crawl space instead of the oitter boxes to go to the bathroom. Someone told me that cats do not like mothballs and I thought that may keep them away from the crawl space.

Thanks for your question. Mothballs are toxic, and I would recommend not using them. There are several products available that may work, most of them made to keep cats away from gardens. The most reliable, obviously, would be a barrier of sorts, mesh or other fence type material.

Best of luck,
