i have a 5 month old bloodhound about a month ago he had what looked like a zit on his outer lips. now it is about the size of a golf ball and is hard. he also itches constantly but does not have fleas. over the last week and a half he has also developed watery eyes with it becoming more cloudy over the last 2 days.

Thanks for asking. Sounds like a trip to your local AAHA veterinarian is in order for your blood hound. Some young dogs can have acne or papilloma virus that can look very similar and are treated differently so an "eyes on" hands-on approach is reasonable. Don’t forget that puppies are more likely to be affected by internal parasties so bring a sample of his bowel movement with you at this visit to exclude the need for deworming. Hope this helps your guy. dr deb
