Finding Help for Your Large Animal, Livestock or Wildlife

Answer

AAHA veterinarians are primarily small animal doctors, meaning animals that are most commonly kept as pets. We do not have the expertise or resources to answer any questions relating to larger animals (like horses), livestock (like pigs, lambs, cows, or goats), and wildlife (wild birds, squirrels, raccoons, etc).

For help with large animals or livestock, you’ll need to contact a large animal veterinarian in your area. For help with wildlife, you’ll need to contact your local wildlife agency or rescue group or perhaps your local zoo.
