How Veterinarians Set Their Fees
Prices for services are set by each individual veterinary practice. Factors to be considered in determining fees include:
- The experience, reputation and skill of the veterinarian and staff performing the services
- The time required to perform the services
- Practice location and demographics
- Cost, quality and quantity of products used (this includes diagnostic tests, anesthesia monitoring, medications, etc.)
These factors are different for every practice. If you have questions about your veterinary fees, AAHA recommends discussing them with your veterinarian and/or practice manager.
