At work or at home, texting is the way to go for appointment reminders. Times are changing, and the services offered by your Pet Portal are keeping up with them. We all know the importance of following good preventive health guidelines, for ourselves, our families and our pets. That means remembering to get the checkups and tests we need each year and not forgetting to take the medicine that keeps us all in tip-top shape. How do we remember everything we need to do in this busy and on-the-move world? We need reminding.
You don’t have to be a senior citizen to remember a time when this wasn’t so easy. Sure, there was the mail and the phone, but there was often only one phone line per household. If no one answered, you had to call back. Answering machines changed our lives in the 1970s. We could no longer imagine living in a world where you couldn’t leave a message. Jump ahead to 2011, and we have multiple modes of remote communication ranging from the time-honored snail mail to mobile phones, email and text messaging. In many ways, having a myriad of communication channels has made life much more convenient, but it also means we have a lot more information to keep track of. Therefore, it makes sense to make use of as many channels as possible.

We’ve been happy to go beyond traditional mail and offer you email reminders to help you keep track of your pets’ needs. However, even email involves a bit of work, requiring you to log in to an account and find the important messages amid the junk email. If you are one of the millions of people who have discovered the ease of texting, you’ll be happy to know you can now be reminded of veterinary appointments via text message. Our new reminder services will initially email you about upcoming appointments two to seven days in advance of your visit. On that email will be a link allowing you to opt-in for text reminders. All you have to do is follow the link and fill in your mobile phone number next to the text message option. From that point on, you’ll get an appointment reminder automatically sent to your cell phone.
We are committed to making taking the best care of your pet as easy as possible. Therefore, wherever you are – at home, on the go or at your computer, there’s a convenient and fast way to remember your pets’ veterinary visits. All we need is your cell phone number, and you are good to go. Too much information (2MI) got you down? Try our text reminders. They are not too good to be true (2G2BT), and they are easy (EZ) to use. Best of all, there’s no need to learn texting language to understand them because they are all in plain English! Remember, at work or at home, texting is the way to go.
