Pet Food Recall
We are extremely saddened to learn about pets that have become ill or died after consuming the pet foods cited in the Menu Foods recall. We wish to express our sympathy to the pet owners and their families as well as the veterinary staff who have been affected.
Since the recall was announced on March 16, the FDA and other organizations have been working diligently to identify the cause of this problem. As more testing and analysis have been performed, the information available to veterinary professionals and the public has changed.
We understand how the rapidly evolving nature of this situation has been both frustrating and frightening for you. We urge you to seek reputable sources of information and recommend your veterinary team.
If you believe your pet has consumed the recalled products:
- Contact your veterinarian immediately while closely monitoring your pet for signs of illness.
- Be sure that all recalled food is out of the reach of children and pets and will not be accidentally consumed.
Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions for further information.
As medical professionals, veterinarians and veterinary technicians are your best source for accurate and reliable information about the recall and trustworthy nutritional advice for your pets. You can count on your veterinary team for compassionate care to help you and your pet through this difficult time.
